Photos that say it all

I’m not a good photographer. I’m an amateur, in fact, but these photos taken on a standard digital Pentax camera, say it all. Proud to have captured these images for my poetry book, I Look For You In Other Truths.

‘the strangeness of the other’

“In contemporary Australian poetry we rarely encounter a poetics that attends to homoerotic subjectivity from the uncomfortable position of shared erasure and material suffering. Ramon Loyola’s The Measure of Skin nurtures the elemental strangeness of the other.”

~ Michelle Cahill, editor/author, introducing The Measure of Skin and the other brilliant titles in Vagabond Press‘ new deciBels series.  https://vagabondpress.net/blogs/news/db3intro. Now available for order!

The Measure of Skin in Vagabond Press’ deciBels 3 series

My new chapbook, The Measure of Skin, is now available for pre-order from Vagabond Press. I’m thrilled to be part of this series in esteemed company. Check it out and place your pre-order (to arrive by the end of March 2018).

The Measure of Skin navigates the surging waves of anti-identity sweeping the world today, where one’s propensity to stand out in the crowd — because of skin colour and gender persuasion — becomes a howl for acceptance and recognition in the streets where humanity thrives, in the walls where hope breathes, in another’s touch where love resides. They are poems that are not just about love, but of how love and faith in one’s identity transcend the ideals of a normative reality.

of pure offerings and intentions

Thank you for following my illustrated poem, i am a story, this year. It’s my way of expressing my desire to be more creative, despite my amateurish attempts.

This is the last post for the series, but there are plans to release it as an illustrated book.

Thanks, again, to everyone for ‘liking’ it.
